The total supply of $SIDE is 1,000,000,000 tokens (i.e., one billion tokens). $SIDE will be allocated across the following categories:
20%, 200,000,000 SIDE
The Ecosystem Reserve is key to incentivizing developers, who are instrumental in evolving Side into a next-generation platform for a Bitcoin-centric financial future. In the initial six months post-mainnet launch, we expect most users to engage primarily with in-house applications developed by Side Labs. However, as the project matures, the Side Chain will transition from an app-specific chain to a general-purpose smart contract platform, attracting a wider developer community.
Initially managed by Side Labs, control over the Ecosystem Reserve will gradually transfer to a foundation once it is fully established. The Ecosystem Reserve will follow a 42-month vesting schedule, beginning with a 6-month cliff, followed by gradual release over the next 36 months.
18%, 180,000,000 SIDE
Side Labs, as the core contributor to Side Protocol and its ecosystem of products and tools, will receive 18% of the total token supply. This allocation will be vested over four years, beginning with a one-year cliff, then released gradually over the subsequent 36 months.
15%, 150,000,000 SIDE
15% of the $SIDE total supply is reserved for public sale offering. Tokens allocated to the public sale will be fully unlocked at TGE. Further details will be announced soon.
13%, 130,000,000 SIDE
The development of Side Protocol would not have been possible without the financial backing and strategic guidance of our early investors, whose support has been pivotal to our journey.
7%, 70,000,000 SIDE
A total of 70,000,000 tokens will be fully unlocked after the TGE and reserved as the initial liquidity for trading activities. The liquidity pool on the DEX will be created by the Side team.
10%, 100,000,000 SIDE
Genesis Drop registrants will share a total of 100,000,000 SIDE tokens after the mainnet launch, with distribution occurring over a 3-month linear unlock schedule.
